BRASINCA

Brasinca Herramientas, Carrocerias e Veículos S / A is a Brazilian company that currently manufactures bodies for trucks and special vehicles. It was founded in September 1949 in the city of São Caetano do Sul (SP) by Gil & Schueler, one of the largest Ford dealerships in the interior of the State of São Paulo. The so-called Inca – National Industry of Steel Carcasses S / A, was the first in the country created with the specific purpose of manufacturing metallic bus bodies.

The name of the company was changed to BRASINCA, not to be confused with Incar, a bodybuilding company that already existed at the time.

Brasinca manufactured, for example, the fiberglass body for the Saveiro pick-up bucket and the first FNM truck cabins in 1951.

Brasinca’s greatest contribution to the Brazilian automotive industry was the development of the 4200 GT sports coupe [1]. Designed by the Brazilian based in Brazil Rigoberto Soler Gisbert and the mechanic wizard Ângelo Mário Gonçalves, the automobile counted on body in molded steel by the hand, motor of the trucks Chevrolet of the time, with 6 cylinders in line and 4.271cc. 3 SU carburetors were used to feed the engine.

The journalist Tiago Songa, one of the greatest scholars of the model, collected data and photographs of 40 units of the probable 73 manufactured between the years of 1964 and 1966. The models were distributed in Berlinetas, two units convertible version and a SW, also called Gavião who provided services to the Highway Police at the Anchieta Highway base.

The high production cost of Uirapurú caused Brasinca to give up its production, passing production to the team of engineers who worked in the vehicle. Thus was born the Sociedade Técnica de Veículos Ltda (STV), which was responsible for finishing the assembly of the bodies already manufactured by Brasinca.

In 1996, Usiminas took over half of the Pouso Alegre plant, changing its name to Brasinca-Minas and automatically communicating the closure of the São Paulo plants. In 1997, Brasinca entered into bankruptcy. In 1999, Usiminas took full control of the company, changing its name to Usiparts (currently Automotive Usiminas).
