Bricklin

Bricklin was a sports car manufacturer based in Canada at Saint John in 1974 and active until 1976.

“SV-1”

The only Bricklin model, produced for the US market alone, was the Bricklin SV1, where SV stands for “Safety Vehicle”. In fact, Bricklin attempted to push on the automotive safety level to increase sales, unsuccessfully, being, among other things, the topic of “heavy” security for car development: you think it was not equipped with ashtray for smoking in the car It could be dangerous.

The bodywork was mainly made of fiberglass and could be chosen in one of these 5 “safe” colors: red, white, green, orange and gold.

To propel the vehicle was adopted in 1974, an AMC V8 engine and, since 1975, Ford’s V8 type “351 Windsor”.

The Bricklin was equipped with gull wing gates that were never totally waterproof.

A long series of defects actually ruined the car, which was sold in only 2880 specimens.
