B.Engineering

B.Engineering or Borel Engineering is a car company founded by Jean-Marc Borel who bought a part of the Bugatti Campogalliano plant and founded a new company in 2000.

The first model presented was called Edonis, based on the Bugatti EB110 Super Sport, but it had been widely reviewed. The only thing that kept the original Bugatti was the carbon fiber frame. Both the exterior and interior of the car had been completely renovated. The 3.5-liter engine of the Bugatti was increased to 3760 cm³ of displacement. The original IHI turbochargers were replaced by two larger units of the same manufacturer; thanks to this the engine power had gone from 610 hp DIN (448 kW) and 650 Nm of torque to 680 hp DIN (500 kW) at 8000 rpm and 735 N · m.

The triple 4WD Drivetrain differential from the original Bugatti had been replaced with a much simpler and lighter transaxle RWD, saving around 70 kg of total weight. These figures gave Edonis a weight / power ratio of 480 bhp / tonne and a specific engine power of 181 bhp / liter. The brand declared a top speed of 365 km / h (227 mph) and an acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in just 3.9 seconds.

Initially there was a production of 21 copies, all to be delivered by 2002 at a price of about € 760,000, but after being publicized by the press and having participated in some car shows, since 2004 the project has been lost.
